Atlantic Coast Stingrays Volleyball got the new school year off to a smashing start by going undefeated for the first week.
The hot 3 – 0 start was punctuated by an exciting 2-1 JV victory and gut-wrenching five set varsity victory (3-2) over Mandarin. The pajama-themed night had the TANK rocking with every bump, set and spike as our girls fought to hold off the Mustangs and to guarantee another night of celebrating with the Principals’ Cup. In addition to the Mandarin wins, the varsity and JV girls, under the leadership of Coaches, John Alipio, Rayanna Johnson, and Melissa Trocchio, swept First Coast and Riverside during the opening week. The Boys Golf team kicked off the season with a victory or Stanton College Prep, and finished the week at 1-1 after losing to a strong Episcopal squad later in the week. Boys and Girls Cross Country put in a good showing in their inaugural race at Wolfson. Varsity Football got off to a slow start in its Week 1 matchup with Terry Parker, the Stingrays were bogged down on a sloppy turf and kept off the board falling 14-0. All of our Fall sports get underway this week, Good Luck and Go Stingrays! Coach Blount
